Pre- authorization for a c-section being declined & unable to upgrade my medical plan since December.

Discovery Medical Aid is absolutely ridiculous , and pathetic!

I am currently 30 weeks pregnant who had a spinal surgery performed in October 2018 and i have *****s and rods in my back, my gynaecologist has requested that i have a c-section done as it could be a problem to have natural birth due to the pressure while pushing.

Discovery Health is not one bit concerned about an individual life and health , as my xrays are not good enough for them to understand that natural birth is a risk to have , they are just wanting more proof one after the other.

I have sent the motivational letter from my gynaecologist and xrays providing proof of how my back is after the operation , and my request was denied for a c-section.

I sent an email on the 27th December 2024 requesting is there any plan i can upgrade to in order for myself to have my c-section approved due to the nature of my medical reason and i was called back on the 27th December at 15:59 and the lady i spoke to advised there is no point on upgrading, your request will still be denied, you will need a letter from your doctor which states details of your operation, she wanted me to ask my gynaecologist who specializes in pregnancy to type out a motivational letter which explains what is going on with my back , as if the gynaecologist specializes in spinal check ups as well ? Like seriously !

I called pre authorization again today , and a lady said i may speak to one of the consultants who assists with upgrading medical plans , as there are plans where c-sections are included and as soon as i get put through to the consultant to assist with the upgrading, i am told it has been closed to upgrade your plan , which is not my fault as i stated in my emails in December and on the call on the 27th December at 15:59 , that i am willing to upgrade my medical aid for a c-section to be approved.

Discovery doesn't care about a life of an individual or anything , they just give a damn about there funding and money. I havent used my medical aid for so many years since i have my medical aid and now when im in need for it , it gets declined for funding ?
