Pre-authorisedIron infusion - no payment!!!!

After blood tests it was discovered my iron levels were significantly low. Doc needed to boost me back to good health with an iron infusion as iron tablet therapy was not working. DH preauthorised this treatment. It cost R6300 to have this done. However R5400 of this was for the Monofer (iron) used. Discovery then processed claim for only R759 and did not pay anything for the R5400 for the main part of the treatment. My questions: 1. why preauthorise and then not pay for the treatment 2. Reason for rejection - dosage administered too high. I sent through a preassessment form and nobody indicated that there was a maximum dosage. How mus i know how much iron to be infused with? 3. Customer service through this whole process was appalling... DH I am totally disappointed in the service levels this year.
