poor service
My wife is pregnant and today was her check up date with a gaenacologist and the doctor recommended that she should be admitted to be monitored over night as the baby and my wife were in risk but she could not be able to because authorisation for her admission will take 12 hours to 3 working days.I could not understand this because for someone who is pregnant and at risk of losing the baby and her life to be told that she must wait so long and beside all that the main reason they could not authorise is that they were not aware that my was pregnant,after all the claims that were submitted due to her pregnamce and all those claims were paid but today they are not aware that she sos pregnant.

When a member joins the Scheme, we process the application according to the information disclosed on the application. Once your membership is activated and we receive a request for either in or out of hospital authorisation within a certain period of time our system will automatically pend the request. We will then request further clinical information from your provider. This process is necessary to ascertain whether there were any pre-existing conditions of which we were not aware. This is a risk management tool put into place to ensure the sustainability of the Scheme for all present and future members.
We confirmed that the authorization was approved based on the information provided by your treating doctor.
