Policy change of members without notification

I'm paralysed. The Discovery plan I was on had an External Medical Items (EMI) fund which allowed me to purchase equipment every year up to approx R50000. This was great for 2012 - 2014 where I used the fund to purchase wheelchairs to help me better function. In mid-2015 I tried to buy another more comfortable wheelchair as my body is constantly changing & therefore requires a different wheelchair (as also confirmed in writing to Discovery from both my Physiothe****** & Occupational The******). The claim however was rejected even though I had more than enough funds available in my EMI. Discovery's reason: a limitation of only being allowed to purchase 1 wheelchair every 3 years is now in affect. A wheelchair is the most used and most necessary piece of equipment a paralyzed person needs. I emailed Discovery asking when this limitation was implemented? I was eventual put in touch with ***nor van den Heever, a Relations Manager, who confirmed to me in writing that no members or brokers were ever notified of this change.So a change to my policy, that greatly affects which plan I stay on, was never communicated to me or any other members?Unacceptable!And now I can't afford a wheelchair
