Perceived discriminatory practice by Discovery Health.

Trying to renew my Driver's Licence, I failed the eye test. I was told that one could have their eyes tested by an optometrist for R50. The certificate issued is acceptable to the Traffic Dept. I made an appointment at a Mellin's Branch and had my eyes tested. Later I received the routine email from Discovery for the latest claim. Mellins had claimed R457 for my eye test. Passing the Mellin's Branch, there was a notice on the window that Discovery members on two of the lower Discovery Plans paid only R50 and R100 respectively for an eye test. I went in and queried the R457 that had been charged to my Discovery account. I was informed by the person at the Branch that the R457 is their normal charge and that the two lower amounts shown on their window were instructed by Discovery Health. I am on the Classic Comprehensive Plan, which used to be the top Plan until they created an Executive Plan. I find differing scheme rates for different Plans to be discriminatory. It would appear that members on expensive Plans are subsidising other members.
