Pending surgery/Incorrect information given/Administration nightmare.
I am due to have a required surgical procedure on the 23rd of Feb. I obtained auth on the 17th of Feb and discovered I am still registered as a 'coastal' member and was put through to another dept to rectify. The agent was amazing, gave me options, and I emailed 'administrations' the necessary documents as instructed. I followed up today - only to be advised that I am not covered and cannot upgrade policy. Now less than 48hrs before due to being admitted, I am waiting for this to be escalated. The 1st supervisor says 'I should know about the 3-month date of moving clause'. How? I don't spend my free time researching T's & C's when moving provinces due to having to relocate because of Covid. ALL of my Dr's visits X-rays, sonars/scripts have been in Johannesburg. My Discovery life has my current address. My car insurance was with Discovery (canceled last year due to high rates) had my correct address. Discovery bank has my current address. How does the medical aid not know this? Every single e-mail to administration has my Gauteng work address. Can someone who can see the bigger picture and a sense of urgency please call me? I am completely stressed out and have planned the next 2 weeks of my life around this operation. The scariest bit is had I not followed up, I would have been lumped with the entire bill for this procedure.

For your records, I have not had a single call returned that was not initiated by me. I have not had an acknowledgment of any email, besides you copy/paste computer response.Nothing but the best. Of course I will be thrilled with the nice apology I eventually get for the incorrect information given to me by quite seriously very helpful and nice consultant. Although, it only seems fitting that I am the only one here that makes mistakes and must take the consequences. I particuarly liked being told off like a naughty school girl at age 45 for not reading my emails from you (and not knowing every rule since 2016 when I moved to the coast). It seems you value me so much as a client, that you are doing me a favour by allowing me to be a member. Through retrenchment, reduced salary and having to move provinces due to Covid I have still managed to keep paying your for this privledge. Thank you. Thank you for you wonderful wonderful service, it will never be forgotten.
