Paying R14200 a month but Discovery refuses to pay for a R300 Drip

I've been having a horrible problem with my uterus which caused extreme bleeding which led to anemia. Blood tests confirmed anemia and my Dr also realized that my body isn't absorbing oral Iron tablets so she had me on IV treatments of venifer. I went to the Dr whenever I could, sometimes a week apart and Discovery paid for all these Ivs. I eventually had a procedure done in hospital to try sort out the problem with my uterus. After theatre, my Obgyn administered an Iron IV based on my blood tests on that I did on 20 March which showed that my Iron levels were extremely low due to excessive bleeding. Last week, someone from the hospital called to say that the payment for the IV that was administered in hospital was rejected and I need a letter from my GP stating that she has been treating me for anemia intravenously and my history. To get a letter from my GP, I would have to pay, most probably the same amount as a consult, R600. The Iron drip that Discovery rejected in hospital is around R300. I'm paying R14200 a month to Discovery and they want me to pay double the amount of the drip to motivate them to pay for said drip. Does this make sense? Discovery will have my entire medical history based on claims. Theres a paper trail. Why do I have to get my Dr to give them a history and pay for it when they have it captured already? The last time I used my hospital benefit was 5 years ago. When the in hospital portion is not used for the year, we cannot claim it back, Discovery is making a lot of money from the in hospital benefit that is not used but refusing to pay for a drip. Make it make sense to me please or it time to find another medical aid scheme after 15 years with Discovery!
