Pathetic service.

Hi

I am utterly disappointed with discovery. I am on a keycare plus plan. Last week i fell and hurt my knee. I have been to my local GP who said that i need to go and see a orthopedic Surgeon. On friday electronically my DR submitted a referral form for an authorization number. I received 2 sms from discovery yesterday stating

1) Good day, please resubmit a copy of the Key Care referral form as the one we have the clinical information is insufficient. Current treatment, previous treatment and investigations need to be indicated.

2) Discovery Health Medical Scheme will not pay for your specialist visit from the Specialist Benefit. Please contact your GP for more information.

I called discovery call center and a lady helped me. She told me it was declined because the procedure that needs to be done is not covered. How do we even know what the orthopedic needs to do when I haven't yet seen him ? I need authorization to go see him and find out what can be done. My local GP has resubmitted the forms again yesterday lets hope discovery can understand that its a appointment to see the specialist and not for a procedure to be done.

How great is discovery when its time to take money every month but when its time for them to pay for something its always a mission.

At this point i really feel like changing to another medical aid as discovery clearly has lost its touch.

After resubmitting all documents i received a sms now

Please be advised that Insufficient clinical information received. Current treatment, previous treatment and investigations fields not completed. Please resend with a detailed Clinical History.

I have a appintment monday morning with the specialist and still suffering to get a authorization number.
