Pathetic medical aid

good day. i would just like to say that as one of the most "apparently" best medical aid schemes, the service that my parents have received from them has been the worst - just pathetic i tell you. when they are supposed to give peace of mind to their clients especially in time of need when they are sick, all they have given is added stress . my parents never complained and fought to pay the high installments from the time they joined discovery earlier this year, then mum got sick last week and it has been a nightmare since. as if she is not sick enough. to put things into context, my mum was admitted into hospital as we do not know what is wrong with her and wanted all the tests done, she has been really sick for months now and since she was not recovering but getting worst instead and her GP could not help, he admitted her for further tests. after receiving her results and we found the problem, she was discharged as her Dr was on leave and could not perform the surgery immediately. after coming out of hospital, my dad gets a call saying that they can no longer be apart of discovery as the GP said that my mum has been diabetic for many many years. Firstly i would like to know what evidence did discovery get from the GP proving this , did he pull out records and show evidence that this was indeed a fact?? if he had done that, they would have seen that NO my mum has not been diabetic for many years like he said, but only recently diagnosed and taking sugar tablets ( they had said two years when they took out the cover). can a medical aid just believe a dr who treats 100s of patients and just take his word for it without any proof, surely he could have mistaken her with one of his many patients-i would like to see the records of evidence that he provided discovery with in order for them to take such drastic action? my mum is asthmatic and was always told that the medication she took for her asthma is the reason her sugar would go up and that she did not have diabetes. until this year when she got very sick, we took her to the dr and he saw her sugar was high and prescribed meds. Now tell me how can discovery just behave like that, my mum needs to go for her operation urgently and now she cannot as every medical aid has a 3 month waiting period - do they now have to pay R30 000 cash just to take her in due to the inconvenience caused by discovery. this is really ridiculous and if they had a problem and needed to very the diabetic condition this should have been done surely at the beginning when the policy was taken out - if we were told that this was a problem we would have taken out a different medical aid plan with another company more competent and able to actually help their clients in time of need and not just abandon them!
