Pathetic and disappointing service from Discovery

<p>I have been a member of Discovery Retail medical health from December 2015. I have not used my medical aid yet to date. I recently found out that I am pregnant so I called Discovery to find out if I have funds to visit a Gynaecologist as well as if they will cover the scan. I gave the consultant the procedure codes and costs of the visit as well as the cost of the scan, the consultant told me that i have R1270 funds available and it will cover the costs as well as the scan for the first visit. I called several times to make certain that their is funds and that it will cover my consult and scan and I was told that it will be coevered. My visit was on Friday 17/06/2016 and when I got there they told me i will have to pay the full amount cash as i am on a waiting period on my medical aid. I was highly upset as i have been on Discovery previously as well as a member on the current Discovery Retail Medical aid for 6 months and I have never used my medical aid since I joined so how can I be on a waiting period. Futhermore when thelady called Discovery they said that I only have R350 funds available, whcih is not possible as I called Discovery 3 times prior to find out about the funds and it was R1270. I had to end up paying the full amount cash which i did not plan for. I am very disappointed with the infomation that i received as well as with the service from Discovery.</p>
