Overpromise and Under delivering at Discovery Health!
I've had my medical aid with discovery and left my employer at the end of June 2024. I was then called by one of the Discovery consultant to advise me on the way forward. I then asked what was going to happen to my savings as I've had Coastal Saver. She advised me that I can use all the savings that are remaining. I then asked what happens if I don't use them, I was then informed that those funds would be deposited to my account as a refund. I was then surprised when I got a call a few weeks later from another Discovery consultant to inform me that there was an outstanding amount that I had to pay and I asked her about my refund that I was promised. She advised me that I was not going to get any refund. I mean, this comes from an entire Discovery Health that I was told employs the best staff and here I am being overpromised something and now they're under delivering on that. We are human being that makes plans with our finances. What is now going to happen with the refund that I have been promised and are waiting for? The funny thing is that they would call me after some time to remind me of the outstanding balance and would inform them of what they still have to deliver. They would always promise to get someone to call me and that would NEVER happen and they would just send an e-mail to remind me of the payment I need to make. This is very disrespectful, inconveniencing and very UNPROFESSIONAL! I am waiting for my refund and I know that your calls are recorded so I would need you to go back to all the calls that were made to me to review what I am talking about. The one consultant said to me the person that promised me a refund was probably a Trainee, really?? Is that all I could get from Discovery Health? Getting people who are not equipped enough to advise us on our medical aid? How unprofessional can you be? It's even unprofessional to have your consultant telling me that I was probably advised by a Trainee. I believe that each and every employee is supposed to be well informed about every procedure that takes place in the work environment. In fact, I've had the worse experience with Discovery from the get go. I had to beg and call in order for my membership card to be delivered to me. From sending it to the incorrect address to sending incomplete cards that were promised. The entire experience was bad, not something I had expected from Discovery and they seem like a World Class Business.
