Operation not covered

I recently had to pay R8,000 for an operation to remove a "ping pong ball sized" sebaceous cyst from my neck. I used my network hospital.

I'm on the Essential Smart hospital plan.

Please make sure you are covered for all operations as this operation code fell under the "exclusion list". Meaning its an operation Discovery does NOT cover.

On the website it states "Unlimited hospital cover in the Smart Hospital Network". They forget to tell you about an exclusion list. Don't be fooled like me.

I've cancelled my medical aid with them.

To add to this inconvenience I now have to find a new medical aid which does not seem easy.
