Not taking responsibility

i called the call centre to check on co payments for a lapascope on 20.2.2015, consultant Debbie said no co payment was applicable for scope to remove endometriosis. This morning when I called to get authorisation for the procedure I was hit with a R 5600 co -payment !!! Spoke to Makadi ( manager) who said sorry there is a co payment. if I had known there was a co payment I would have gone to the doctor to book the procedure. If Debbie wasnt sure then she shouldve just said : get me the codes then I can double check instead of CONFIRMING NO CO PAYMENT!! I refuse to accept to have to pay this co payment as I acted on what I was told by a Discovery Health Employee, If they listen to the calls they will clearly note that their staff are giving incorrect information. I was thinking of adding my partner onto DISCOVERY but frankly I have lost all faith in this institution , they are quick to increase rates but the more it increases the less you are covered for!!!! <br> I look forward to a positive solution to this matter as I cannot afford to pay R 5600 out the blue - I specifically upgraded my plan to be covered for more but that clearly isn't the case with DISCOVERY !!!!
