Not resolving the problem! Fed up
after a huge fight with discovery and my previous employer of almost 3 years back I got the medical aid backdated to 2013. Today I receive a call from discovery investigation to state that I owe Discovery R1900 seen that the policy was backdated. This was not my fault that my previous employer kept paying for a medical aid I didn't use seen that I was on a different medical aid from date of retrenchment (2013 July). WHAT CAN I DO TO GET DISCOVERY OFF MY BACK!!!!!!

The Medical Savings Account (MSA) is a fixed amount that Discovery Health gives you at the beginning of the year for day-to-day medical expenses. You pay this amount back to us in 12 equal monthly instalments but, if necessary, you are free to use the whole amount at the beginning of the year to pay for valid medical expenses. The 12 instalments form part of your monthly contribution.
If you leave the Scheme part-way through the year, we calculate how much of the MSA you have used and how much you have contributed to it. If you have used more from the account than what you have paid into the account, then you will need to pay the difference to us.
I investigated your query and confirmed that when your membership was withdrawn effective 31/07/2013 backdated and you no longer had access to benefits we would need to consolidate your MSA from 2013 to date.
This created an amount owing to the Scheme. I have sent you further details via email and you may contact us directly if you may have any further concerns.
