Not covering my mother as dependant

Good Day

I was laid off in May this year and agreed on a three months cover for my Medical aid where i have my mother as an adult dependent. Now i will require cover from September as i am self-employed and i am happy with Discovery Health and the Jenus Health consultant i am in contact with to arrange cover i explained all this and Discovery Health comes back and requires that i do an affidavit sign 9 paged document as per their underwriting department, i am so disgusted and if push comes to a shove will go on to another medical cover where i will not get hassles for the same cover. I will not beg to be covered by Discovery Health as they want me to, i am customer they take me or go fly a kite.I am a paying customer for that matter.

Hello tre4life,

Thank you for your comment.

We confirmed that we have been in contact and addressed your concerns. When a member leaves their company, they have the option to transfer the current membership to private capacity (as long as it is not a closed scheme) instead of completing a new application. We have transferred your membership to private capacity from 1 September 2015 with your mother still as a dependent.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further assistance in this matter.

Regards
Annelize
