Non payment to service provider while benefits are available.

Hi. I'm very disappointed in this medical aid scheme. I've been with Discovery on and off from 2005, I used to think they were the best medical aid, but of late, I'm nothing but disappointed in the services. I went to the doctor on the 9th of December. I'm aware that my funds were exhausted, but I also know that I have over threshold visits available. My doctor did not get paid by my medical scheme on the condition that my funds are finished. The lady told me that I was supposed to do a virtual consultation with my doctor beforehand. I've never heard of such and no one informed me that I have to do that. I'm telling her, I'm the client, if they change anything and they are not making it public knowledge through media or by personally informing me through email or sms, I will not know. So I have to now pay the doctor whereas my benefits are sitting untouched and my medical aid is losing nothing. And I was holding the phone for more than two minutes for the manager who never came to the phone. I'm passed off with Discovery, I think it's time I made a change from this nonsense of a medical aid scheme. Any takers are welcome to phone me. ***
