NON Payment of account

<p>28 April 2015 I was involved in a motor accident in Durban. I sustained head injuries and was taken to the Emergency Unit of Kingsway Hospital. Attending doctor decided that a CT scan was necessary and sent me to Drs Lake,Smit and Partners. Authorization was obtained from my medical aid Discovery Health, authorization number ********** 123.</p> <p>After more than six months I received a reminder from Drs Lake,Smit and Partners for the outstanding amount of R4 222.30. I contacted Discovery and they said the request for the CT scan was not done by a specialist and I need specialist authorisation and I must obtain a motivation letter from the attending doctor for the reason a CT scan was necessary. I obtained the motivation and sent it to Discovery. I never heard form Discovery Health again I presumed that the account was paid. I’ve emailed both parties numerous times with no reply from either.</p> <p>Now after more than a year Drs Lake,Smit and partners is threatening to hand the account over to their attorneys for collection. I want Discovery Health to pay this account since they gave authorization for the scan but later decided it was not a specialist that requested the scan but a normal doctor at Kingsway Hospital’s Emergency Unit.</p>
