no value for money

I am on the discovery coastal saver plan. My contributions are around 38k per annum including my spouse. My savings or disposable savings is about 7k per annum. So that leaves a balance of 31k that discovery retains for my hospitalisation, which may never happen in my lifetime. I am 46, fit as a 19 year old, although I do have wear and tear problems. These include poor eyesight, deteriorating teeth and gums. The occasional bout of flu and sinusitis. In the last year, I have already spent about 6k in addition to medical premium, on healthcare. I have now gone for eye glasses which have come to 6k. That leaves me with 1k for 2016, to take of me and mrs. Does that make economical sense to any educated person out there. Why cant there be better savings accounts, less hospital cover. Thats where the needs are, not in hospitalisation. But then again DH knows that, hence only a small part of your contribution is allocated for savings. The rest is discovery profit x 3 million clients, a hell over lot of money. Most people never get hospitalised until old-age. It went for service on the 21/12/2015 as it was due. I heard a noise from my engine and asked the technicians to check it out . They told me my cam chain and tensioner were faulty. I then tried to start the bike after 2 weeks and the bike wouldn't start. The bike was towed to the dealership and they told me that the cam chain, tensioner and sensors are faulty and need replacing. I tried to contact Traficc and they said they will call me back, which they didn't.
