No Screening and prevention for young adults?!

Earlier this week I felt a lump in my breast, I went to the doctor and he referred me for a mammogram.

When I got to Flora Clinic, I was told that I cannot get a mammogram as I am too you and they only start with it at 35 years of age. They then confirmed that they will give me a sonar.

I then phoned discovery and talked to a lady who told me as long as the codes are linked to a mammogram discovery will pay for the sonar out of my screening and prevention. She asked me to confirm the codes (ICD10 code:N60.2 and procedure code: 34200) and to phone back so that they can check if all is in order for me to have the sonar done and for screening and prevention to pay for it.

When I phoned discovery back to give them the codes, I was told by Sabier that no, they would not pay at all and that I have been misinformed.

I cannot accept this, because that then means that there is no screening and prevention for people under the age of 35.
