No maternity benefits at 7 months pregnant

Went for my scheduled gynecologist appointment 2 weeks ago. Received an e-mail from Discovery few days later stating that they won't be paying the claim for the visit as I haven't registered my pregnancy on their website.

Best of all is my medical aid plan does not include savings so should only be a matter of time before I receive a bill from my gynecologist to pay for my last visit (R1200).

Discovery did an utterly poor job at notifying their customers to register their pregnancies in order to get maternity benefits in the new year. Surely after claiming maternity benefits for the last 7 months they would know I am in fact pregnant and would need my maternity benefits in 2018.

I have been a loyal Discovery customer for 6 years, paying every month for their service. This is what I get in return???

This is the last thing a 7 month pregnant woman needs to stress over.
