No cover for life-threatening emergencies with Discovery!!

On the 22nd of May at 22:30, i was rushed into the casualty of Garden City Hospital. i was admitted and rushed for an emergency operation at 03:10 the Sunday morning. i was discharged on the 25th May at 14:30. While on my way back home from the hospital, I received a call from Discovery enquiring about my hospital stay. I spoke to a lady, I think she said her name was Deidre. She advised me that because I had a medical emergency, my first 24hrs will be covered at 100%. On the 26th May, I receive an SMS from the doctor who did my operation, informing me that my medical aid only covered R1602, 72 and that there is an outstanding amount of R7314,60 that I am liable for. I then phoned Discovery and enquired about it because according to my understanding, if you are admitted, everything is covered fully under the in-hospital cover. I am up to arms with Discovery!! This is the umpteenth time now, that I am requested to pay for an emergency. They always find a way to NOT cover something whenever we have an emergency. I really don't know what to do but just voice my disappointment and anger over such day-light *******!! I am totally unhappy because of having to be in debt unfairly, while paying enormous and ridiculous monthly fees but not receiving the service they so boldly advertise and promise...With Discovery one worry more about how you going to pay back the doctors, than worrying about your actual well being/recovery that's do crucial after an emergency.
