No compassion worst of the worst....

My daughter was booked and ready to deliver her baby at Glynnwood Hospital yesterday. She is covered by Discovery Medical Aid, and all arrangements were in place ahead of time.

When she arrived at the hospital, the staff refused to assist or admit her — purely due to a communication breakdown between two doctors. Instead of resolving the issue or providing care, they called an ambulance and sent her away to a state hospital to give birth.

This is completely unacceptable. A labouring mother should never be turned away or left without care because of internal miscommunication between medical professionals. It is dangerous, inconsiderate, and a total failure of patient care. We trusted this hospital to provide a safe, supportive environment for the birth, and instead she was sent away in a vulnerable, urgent situation.

There was no regard for her well-being, the baby, or the fact that she had made all necessary arrangements with Discovery medical aid. I am deeply disappointed and concerned about the level of care and professionalism shown here. I hope no other family has to go through this kind of experience during such a special and important moment. Extremely poor care and total lack of compassion.
