No authorisation number given for hospital adm
Tuesday i went to City hospital as i was sick and got helped then went home, wednesday morning i went to my Doctor as i wasn't better then was referred to hospital but discovery asked me to wait 8 ours for my authorisation number then wednesday night i went back to hospital without an authorisation number and got admitted as i was very ill and serious, thursday morning i was told that i didn't have an auth number so i need to call my medical aid and i will have to payfor the stay which might ad up to R3000, when iwe phoned disvovery we were told that i will have to wait for 16 more hours to get my the number and they haven't recieved my Doctors form when siacovery sent the form to a wrong number while i was suffering, i got discharged then a Doctor that saw me in the hospiatl said i couldn't leave as i am seriously sick and there may be complications and asked discovery to send him the form to fill in so i won't leave the hospital but they refused, yhen i left and went to my Doctor and got the form then emaild it to discovery and was told that it might take up to 7 days on top of the 4 days that i have been sick with less medical treament and now im at home still waiting.

When a member joins the Scheme, we process the application according to the information disclosed on the application. Once your membership is activated and we receive a request for either in or out of hospital authorisation within a certain period of time our system will automatically pend the request. We will then request further clinical information from your provider. This process is necessary to ascertain whether there were any pre-existing conditions of which we were not aware.
The admission has since been approved and the details have been provided to the principal member. We wish you a speedy recovery.
