No Authorisation for urgent care/treatment

Utterly disgusted in the way Discovery treats clients who need Medical treatment. On 01 May I was taken by ambulance to Garden City with severe abdominal pain. I am on a Key care Plus plan so assumed as it is a Network Hospital I will receive the treatment I require. I was wrong. The locum Dr that suggested I be admitted went off duty and the night shift locum and receptionist advised admission is declined by Discovery and I would need to pay R10K to be admitted! They suggested I be transferred to Helen Joseph. I reluctantly agreed as I dont see why I need to go to a Government Hospital if I pay monthly for Medical Aid. After 5 hours I asked what is happening as I still did not receive any treatment. Eventually the Locum did a Sonar. He insisted I had a Hysterectomy!!! Needless to say I was discharged early morning of 02 May without knowing why I am in severe pain.

I have followed procedure thereafter. I saw a Network GP, Went for tests including a Mammogram and Sonar along with blood tests. Results are worrying and my GP advised I need to see a General Surgeon. Dr submitted the forms Discovery required and again Rejected.... Upon following up I was told, No they got the PMA forms but it is with the Forensic Dept and will review within 4 working days. Absolute nonsense!!! I have been in incredible pain for over a month and no where nearer to get the treatment or possibly surgery I require because of Discovery's ridiculous turn around time. I would gladly have gone to Brenthurst's Casualty but scared Discovery declines that as well. I am really not sure how else to get treatment. Discovery please do better and assist.
