No Authorisation
I hurt my wrist while playing soccer a month before i signed up with discovery, I did not know that my wrist was actually fractured until i noticed severe pain in my wrist when i use it for lifting etc.<br> <br> I went through the process and have been waiting now over 3 weeks for an authorization number.<br> <br> This is unacceptable because I am actually paying a huge portion of my salary to discovery.<br> <br> I was told that I was gonna get my authorization number on the 24th of April 2015 but i am still waiting.<br> <br> My membership number is ***.<br> <br>

I tried contacting you however, I was not able to reach you.
When a member joins the Scheme, we process the application according to the information disclosed on the application. Once your membership is activated and we receive a request for either in or out of hospital authorisation within a certain period of time our system will automatically pend the request. We will then request further clinical information from your provider. This process is necessary to ascertain whether there were any pre-existing conditions of which we were not aware.
I am pleased to confirm that process was finalized and the authorisation to visit your specialist was approved on 28/04/2015. I am sorry for any delays experienced and have also sent you an email with the details of your approval.
