Money Hungry Medical Aids

I am writing this review on behalf of my brother-in-law. He is disabled, and only receives a SASSA grant. I take care of him and pay his medical aid. This afternoon he received an sms from DISCOVERY that his KIV has been declined, and if he does not submit supporting docs by 15 December 2023, he premium will be increased from R1200 to R3340. We went onto the app, but get stuck at upload UIF docs and bank statements. He DOES NOT have a bank account, only SASSA. How the hell does DISCOVERY operate. Giving us 4 days and no means to prove he is disabled and only gets SASSA. Absolutely horrified by how DISCOVERY did an apparant self assessment and reckons he earns in excess of R15k a month!!! Will take this to the Ombudsman if needed!
