Medical services

I am utterly appalled by the way Discovery Health has treated me as a new member. Despite being completely honest during the application process, I’ve been slapped with a 12-month waiting period for pregnancy and related conditions — without a shred of valid medical justification. At the time of joining (01/05/2025), I was not aware that I was pregnant , or had no diagnosis or symptoms suggesting a medical condition, and was simply experiencing spotting I attributed to my long-term use of oral contraceptives. I even took a pregnancy test at the time — it was negative. There was nothing to disclose because there was nothing to disclose. Discovery is now conveniently classifying this as a “pre-existing condition” based on assumptions, not facts. It feels like a blanket policy used to avoid paying claims, and I was truly honest in my conversation with the consultant, rather than a fair or medically sound decision. Their approach is cold, accusatory, and dismissive. They are effectively implying dishonesty on my part — and that is absolutely unacceptable. I take my integrity seriously. I answered every question truthfully, and for Discovery to weaponize technicalities and treat members like this is both ********* and disgraceful. This kind of treatment reflects a company more interested in protecting its bottom line than supporting its members. I have formally disputed this decision and requested a review, but so far have received no reasonable justification — only a rigid response lacking empathy or fairness. I trusted Discovery with something as critical as healthcare coverage, and now I deeply regret it. If you are considering joining Discovery Health, think twice. If this is how they treat honest, transparent new members, imagine what happens when you really need help

I am writing again to express my increasing frustration and distress regarding the unacceptable delay in finalizing the appeal I submitted. Your continued silence is not only deeply unprofessional, but it is also having a very real and serious impact on my health and well-being.
Let me be absolutely clear: the way Discovery is handling this situation is making me feel like I’m being treated as dishonest — as if I deliberately misled you when applying for cover. That could not be further from the truth. I was completely transparent during my application, yet your actions are making me feel like my integrity is being questioned and my honesty dismissed. This is emotionally exhausting and deeply hurtful.
The stress of waiting for an outcome is causing my body to go into distress. I am pregnant, and this constant back-and-forth and lack of resolution is not only affecting my mental state but is now beginning to affect me physically as well. I am struggling with anxiety, poor sleep, and overwhelming stress due to this process — all of which are made worse by the fact that I feel unheard and unfairly treated.
I cannot understand why this is taking so long, especially given the clear facts I have submitted. This delay is not just inconvenient — it is harming me. I am genuinely becoming sick from the worry and uncer*****y, and Discovery’s cold and impersonal handling of the matter is only making things worse.
I urge you to treat this as the urgent matter it is — not just in policy terms, but in terms of human decency and compassion. I deserve an outcome. I deserve fairness. And I deserve to be treated as a person, not as a problem.
I await your prompt response. Enough is enough
