Medical Aid ****s

<p>this morning at 1 am I was awoken by my screaming 10 month old baby, it was not normal so we decided to take hime to hospital, we get to Pretoria east Hospital and the lasdy at front desk (after filling out all the paper work) tell us that we have to pay cash and claim back from the medical aid , howevcer , due to having an expensive medical aid we did not have the cash to fork out as we were under the impression we would be covered. So we drove my cruing child to kloof hospital where we were told the same thing with a little more detail. The kind lady told us that they will not be taking out patients on medical aid anymore because discovery is not paying their claims -_- i explained that I did not have cash and she said it was fine the doc will see baby and if discovery did not pay the claim I would receive an account, which I said was fine .. cos really? I did not have anyother choice. As a mother .. I was terrified on the drive to kloof hospital that something was going to happen to baby ... so I ask again ... are medical aid schemes really ****s? something needs to be done about these organisations ..we need laws that protect us from them. </p> <p> </p>
