MEDICAL AID RATE ???
It seems that medical aids rates are made up as they go. They always advertise that they will pay UP TO 100% of the medical aid rate. WHAT IS THE MEDICAL AID RATE? CAN WE GET A COPY OF THIS MEDICAL AID RATE CARD FOR REFERENCE? All practitioners seem to always end up paying over the medical aid rate. What is the point of having a medical aid if they don't cover most of the medical bill??? WHY SHOULD GAP COVER EXIST??? the fact that it exists proves how badly the medical providers are covering their clients. Trying to find a practitioner is another scary thing. I looked up a dentist this morning on the Discovery List and did not find one dentist out of 50 in 100KM radius that had full cover????? I feel very **********.

The Discovery Health Rate is the amount of money we believe is reasonable to pay from your available benefits, like the Medical Savings Account or the Hospital Benefit, for a specific healthcare service. This may be a doctor's consultation, treatment or procedure.
