Medical Aid Policy Withdrawn without Consent, Acknowledgement, or Notification

When I resigned from my employer, a representative from the company withdrew my policy. No one at the company or Discovery obtained a consent / acknowledgement form from me, no one notified me that this would be done, and no one notified me that it had been done once the cancellation was completed. I saw money coming off my account every month for Discovery, I had no idea that the amount didn't include my medical aid.

Per the relevant acts and regulations, making a policy change without my knowledge is not only wildly inappropriate it completely unacceptable.

I've sent several e-mails to Discovery and contacted the call centre. I've asked for a manager to contact me... I'm still waiting.

If I don't get some meaningful engagement from Discovery by 17:00 today, my next step is a complaint to the FSCA and the Health Ombudsman along with going to the media to raise public awareness that a company can cancel your policy with a financial services provider and no one will get in touch to let you know that you've no health insurance.
