Medical aid incompetence at its finest

For the past two weeks, I’ve been fighting to get a simple billing issue resolved. My medical aid wrongly deducted a doctor’s consultation from my medical savings instead of covering it under the diabetic care program’s basket of care. Their excuse kept changing, but after endless back and forth, they finally admitted that both the doctor and consultation codes qualified for coverage.

Their latest excuse? They refused to pay because the doctor enrolled me in the program on the same day as my consultation. When else was she supposed to enroll me—before even meeting me? She literally did it while I was in her office for the consultation.

This is nothing more than a pathetic attempt to avoid paying for care they are supposed to cover. Unacceptable.

I have posted this 4 times on Facebook on their page, each time someone promising to get back to me, but alas, nobody ever does.
