Medical Aid for what???
I am so angry and dissapointed in this medical aid. Words can not express my anger. I gave birth recently and was in hospital for 4days. I received statements of outstanding amounts to be paid by me. Now why in the hell would i have a medical aid if i must pay in over 10k for being in hospital..isnt that the reason why you have medical in the 1st place and my plan has 120% hospital cover. I phoned the medical aid on numerous occasions to make sure everything will be covered. This makes me sick to my stomach and i will not leave it at that. My medical aid gets paid on time every month but when it comes to claim time there is always 100s of stories why they can not pay a claim. I mean not pay the Gynaecologist? ?? Who was suppose to deliver me...the porter?? And how is hospital claims supposed to come out of my savings plan...which is obviously depletted this time of year. Yes i was supposed to give normal birth and due to circumstances beyond my control had an emergency ceaser..I phoned discovery whereby they told me i should phone the hospital to re submit the claim on a different code, the hospitals claims manager said they have submitted it that way. I refuse to pay in anything!
Thank you for your post.
I have tried to contact you telephonically, however I was unable to reach you. I have, however sent you an email addressing the concerns that you have raised.
In order for the Scheme to pay for an approved hospital event we need to be notified should there be a change in your admission dates. This could have been done by either the hospital or the treating provider.
The admission dates have since been updated and we have paid claims in accordance with your plan benefits.
Should you have any further questions relating to the admission and payment of the claims, you may respond to my email with your concerns.
Regards
Anil
