Medical Aid Application Woes

I have been trying to apply for Medical Aid wit;h Discovery since November and have been sent from pillar to post.

First I was given the longest form to fill in, which I did and submitted. Then I was told to submit my height and weight for myself and my dependent (My 72 year old mother) which I eventually did.

My mother lives in George and I live in Cape Town which makes matters already difficult and she had arthritis. After submitting everything I was given another form and told to visit a doctor to have it filled in. By this time I had already cancelled my old Medical Cover as requested by PSG. I was first told I would not have to pay for that and the Doctor would claim from Discovery.

I went to the Doctor and was told to pay cash as they would not take that chance of claiming from discovery. I would like to know why I need to have a Medical Report filled in as if I'm applying for life cover?

My mother is sick and we are both sitting without medical aid thanks to all the going up and down and not getting any help. I am not willing to pay over R500 for a medical report that clearly will cause me problems when in the medical aid.
