**** medical-aid and disgusting behavior from their representatives.

My Mother has been on discovery medical aid for almost a year now, and every time she tried to make a claim they always gave her an excuse. The most recent time, we were in eThekwini hospital as my mom has issues with her lungs and pancreas which could possibly be cancerous. Yet again they decline the request saying they don't cover any procedure that is investigative and based on the detailed report given by the doctor and that I need to pay out of my own pocket. The discovery representative at eThekwini hospital was a joke, instead of helping us, she went in and was investigating us to see if we were at others hospitals ??? She was rude, had no manners and was like there is nothing we they can do and it’s our problem to solve. The irony is she ended up admitting that Discovery is a terrible medical aid and said she doesn't even use discovery she uses BankMed medical aid. If I only could name her directly, I would but I was so shocked and taken aback I didn’t even ask.

I spend R3700 every month, money which i don't have, to make sure my mom was covered and that we didn't have to worry about payment of any health issue. What’s worse, they take your money every month, decline the request when you need help and then they investigate you instead of paying out the claim. Their representatives must be a reflection of the Discovery as a whole cause they are out right entitled and disgusting.

People, if you want to protect your family DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING WITH DISCOVERY, DONT BELIEVE THE ADVERTS ON TV AND SOCIAL MEDIA.... ITS A ****... YOU WILL BE ****** IF YOU GO WITH DISCOVERY!!!!!
