Maternity Benefits denied and the WORST SERVICE EVER!!!

Discovery is the worst medical aid scheme you can Join... 2months ago I joined discovery unaware that I'm pregnant, I wouldn't have known I'm pregnant because I went on my periods asual.. On the day I was admitted at DR SK Matseke is when I was told I'm pregnant which was only two months ago. I wasn't referred to any gynecologist because the hospital wanted the medical aid to authorize it first. The next day I experienced spotting and contacted the Medical aid.. And explained my situation and this lady was very nice and said it's not normally done but because its an emergency they will load my maternity benefits. And gave me the Go Ahead to book for my Gyne appointment.. And I was referred to the Gyne by the DR.

I then received a call from a woman named Rosanna Kinloch from their risk department and she told me to send a later from the Gyne stating when did I find out I'm pregnant and my last menstrual date. I did exactly that and she said she would get back to me. This was on the 6th of September. After that I went on my Gyne appointments as per agreed every month ,infact I have an appointment with the Gyne this Wed. And the medical aid scheme has been covering those appointments because from my statement it clearly States that the claim was made from my maternity benefits.

All of a sudden last week on the 18th I receive two emails from this woman Rosanna that the medical aid will not b covering my maternity and delivery, and that I must pay from my own pocket, I was very shocked because I have proof that it was authorised by Discovery. And when I told her that she said well they didn't know they just discovered, when she is lying be cause I sent her the letter from the Gyne on the 6Sep so she knew very well what's going on. I pleaded with her and even suggested that I pay double but she was very rude and didn't want to compromise.. When it is their carelessness because they should have declined from the first time I called them. Instead they ******* me only so they could get business.

Then worst part I'm sent an email saying I owe R5000 like how cause THEY AUTHORIZED THE MATERNITY benefits.

IM VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I THOUGHT DISCOVERY HAD THEIR MEMBERS HEALTH AT INTEREST, BUT IVE REALIZED THAT ITS JUST A MONEY MAKING SCHEME. I WOULD NOT ADVICE ANYONE TO JOIN DISCOVERY. even their waiting periods are abnormal really, 12months is ridiculous when other medical aids say 3-6months.. The same thing also happened to a friend of mine.. And i find it very disappointing because on the application they sell u dreams. It's only when u make claims u get such surprises!!!
