Lie for cover....Really Discovery!
So an interesting call from Discovery today. Spoke to Anika who is the Keycare personally relations person. So some background information. My son was admitted in November 2021 at Life Chatsmed. He was 6 months at the time. I had to be tested for Covid since I stayed as a border mum. Anyways fast forward to March 2022 we get a bill to say we owe Lancet R850 because Discovery did not cover the covid test. I called Discovery was advised I get 2 covid test for the year and sent me a form to request the additional test which the doctor needs to complete. The forms are completed and submitted but the claim was rejected. Reason :(We do not cover tests before hospital admission (pre-admission testing) without COVID-19 symptoms under the Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMB)). So I explain to Anika the complete story and how I was tested with my son to stay a few days. It is mandatory as per the hospital. This is the interesting part...Anika states the reason the claim was rejected was there was no clinical evident that I needed the test. DUH! I was not sick. You know there are other sicknesses in the world except covid right? So Anika goes on to say maybe the doctor that change what he has written. REALLY! is this not considered *****? Are you really asking me to get a reputable DR to alter that true? Is this what the world has come to? Lies and deception to cover hospital expenses? I am appalled that the staff of Discovery will actually advise clients to do this!
