Less benefits over the years yet increased premiums

<p>We have been with Discovery for +- 6 years and generally been very happy with their service, until now.</p> <p>I gave birth to my 1child in 2014 and discovery covered 100% of the doctors fee ie R5000. I am expecting another child; discovery wants to only pay R3260 this time around for the same service! Why are we paying more for fewer benefits? This is ridiculous, I have spoken at length to numerous people at the pre-assessment claims department, they all give me the same sad story about the medical aid rate changed and they need to keep the medical aid sustainable which does not really help me. My question is why do I pay more for lessor of a service? My own contribution to the doctors’ fees is more that the medical aids contribution!!!!</p> <p>So what the point of paying R82k per annum in fees to Discovery if they can’t even pay a 10% of that amount for a once (twice or 3 times) even in one’s life. Having kids is a costly (yet rewarding) affair however the average educated working class don’t planning to have 16 kids in a row and therefore I feel it’s unfair for discriminate and pay less year on year.</p> <p>Dissatisfied and looking for a new medical aid who can give me the service that I need without all the extra “nonsense”.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
