Late Joiner Penalty

<p>I am unhappy with the fact that my organization has a "C" status and this allows our staff to add their family members to the plan and the late penalty joining fee is wavered. Having said this they don’t clearly communicate how this works. One of our employees have been with discovery since he joined us 7 years ago. Recently his Dad passed away and his dad was a member with Discovery. Unfortunately his dad joined the scheme later on in life and was charged a late joiner penalty and so was his mom. Now unfortunately he has taken over the expenses and is now responsible for paying for the medical aid and he decided to move them onto his medical aid and Discovery will not waver the late joiner penalty. Let alone they have lost a member in the family and that income, he is now burdened with this extra debt. Discovery will not waver the penalty although our company has the right level to have the penalty waivered for our staff.... Discovery is only about the money and not worried about the welfare of their loyal customers.</p>
