Lack of Professionalism and Outstanding Asthma Claim Queries

Dear HelloPeter Team,

I am submitting a complaint regarding Discovery Health’s handling of my chronic asthma queries for my dependant, Shawwal Bagaria.

On 19 May 2026, I received an email from Shayuri Devar that was clearly addressed to her internal team, yet sent directly to me. This reflects a serious lack of professionalism and disregard for proper communication protocols.

Despite repeated requests, Discovery has failed to provide the information I require. I have already confirmed that the treating doctor is Dr Liam Hoskins, Intercare Sandton (practice number is publicly listed). I now request Discovery to provide, in writing:

Which pharmacy will dispense Symbicord at the Discovery tariff rate (excluding Dischem).

The rand values for the following tariff codes in Shawwal’s approved asthma treatment basket: • 0192 / 0190 / 0191 / 0193 / VCONS / VCONT / 0130 (Specialist consultations) • 1192 (Peak flow) • 1188 / 1186 (Flow volume test)

This lack of responsiveness and clarity is unacceptable. I request that Discovery be instructed to finalise these matters and provide the required written feedback by 25 May 2026.
