Lack of feedback on potential ********** claims
I noticed that two claims were submitted by a healthcare provider to Discovery on behalf of my wife over the last two months. These were submitted by a pharmacy in Johannesburg (we live in Cape Town) for a total sum of ~R700, and the pharmacy was paid out from our medical savings account. As one can imagine, I am very unhappy that money has been deducted from my medical savings account without my authorisation.

Upon discovering this, I called Discovery health on Thursday Feb 19 (***) and told them that these two charges claimed by a pharmacy were not authorised by us, and that I suspect ********** activity. I spoke with a gentleman (Lukhanyo I believe) who tried to get to the bottom of the issue. He was extremely helpful and empathetic. While I was on the phone, he tried to call the authorising doctor and pharmacy for an explanation, but was not successful. He promised to investigate and get back to me by Monday Feb 23.

Today is February 27 and yet nobody from Discovery has called to give me an update on the progress on their investigation or to give me a sense of comfort that our personal details have not been compromised. Discovery continues to disappoint!
Thank you so much for your patience while I investigated your query.
I contacted the pharmacy who confirmed that the claims submitted was an administrative error. The pharmacy has an overall database of all members and when the script was captured, they did not confirm the first name. They have apologised for the error and addressed this internally so that this does not happen in future.
I confirmed that the claims have since been reversed and we have credited your Medical Savings Account (MSA). I emailed you the details of the credit. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience experienced for not having received feedback. We are addressing this internally to prevent a reoccurrence of this nature.
Kind regards
