Lack of common sense and empathy for elderly

Good day... My.mum is a 75 year old paitent She has a chronic illness which is prescribed as a pmb Apart of her treatment is for her to receive a drip.on a monthly basis whilst being hospitalized... My mum.is a pensioner and currently just makes it to pay for her medical aid We have a broker that has been liasing with the medical aid and the feedback we receiving is very disappointing.... This pandemic is beyond both u the medical and my mum the paitent control We are in a very difficult situation...and the reality that we are facing that any hospital before admitting a paitents requires a covid test We have explained this to.the medical.aid and was asked to complete a form.by my mums.referral gp...to motivate for additional covid tests to be authorized...but to date we are going back and forth with the medical aid...cos ur team cannot understand that it is imperative for the test to.be performed in order for my mum to be hospitalized and receive the treatment which is under urls pmb...if she does not perform the test she cannot be treated

It is not a cosmetic surgery or something my.mum requires for her betterment It's a procedure that is compulsory in order for her to receive the treatment she is allocated and this treatment i has been captured as a pmb on her medical.aid

So if the medical aid is declining or not seeming to understand the importance of the additional covid tests to be performed may I request ur team.advise how is my mum to get the treatment she requires It is very costly for her to pay out of her pocket for covid tests every month and she does not even receive an amount to cover both medical.aid and covid test....its virtually impossible for her to pay for both.. It is very disappointing how urls authorisation team analysis a patience medical situation and it's seem they have a lack of common sense not forgetting compassion, caring and understanding for the elderly... You guys take advantage of the elderly cos they arnt able to speak out for themselves You add more stress to them.who areu already suffering a medical.condition...my mums situation is aggrevated by stress and the lack of empathy we receiving from medical aid and the fact that she is responsible currently for the two payments has already set her back in her journey of recovery... It would be nice if for once your team.would treat paitents like they were their own parents...maybe then they may understand paitents and paitents situation better My mum.is not asking for much Except that her treatment requires her to be hospitalized and it's only fair that the covid test that she needs to take in order to be hospitalized should be in all fairness funded by the medical aid...

Please note that I have been listed on the medical aid to make enquires as well as our broker Kind regards

Good day yes we were contacted by ur team..but they also are not very helpful...usually when I call the medical aid they would call my mum and get a verbal consent if she is authorisin me to make this call...why was this instance any different...the reason we complain on this site is cause ur callcentres do not want to assist and we are desperate for someone to actually understand what we complaining about.I'm at work and mums at home...my mum is 75 years old..she has an illness that developes through out her body...they are blisters...which sometimes even spread to her throat...she cannot hold up a conversation and that's why I help her raising certain issues....
