Lack of assistance with a Chronic Condition

I joined Discovery Health in Feb2015, after a lengthy conversation with Ntombifuthi Nozipho Mdlalose who helped me with my application for medical aid. I mentioned & asked more than once about coverage for my Chronic liver condition, she told me it would not be a problem, I wouldn't have my 3 month waiting period and everything would be covered for it. <br> I tried to get my medication after joining & was told I was on my 3 month waiting period. Since February 2016 I have been told a number of different things to get assistance & coverage for all of the expenses related to my condition.<br> Discovery has now acknowledged that I have Chronic Hepatic Failure but it is still a mission to get anything paid. <br> At my appointment on Wednesday 23 March 2016 at Sandton Walk-in centre, I noticed that in the comments section with my recent Gastroscope in August 2015 the comment stated \possible alcohol abuse\". I have a liver condition! I am beyond disappointed with your company's poor service & lack of assistance, I can't afford to pay for so many expenses out of my own pocket. Discovery is quick to take my money each month & VERY slow (over a year) in assisting with my liver condition. "
