Keycare Plus Plan

A couple of weeks ago I decided to choose discovery over a couple of medical plans due to my affordability as well as having used keycare plus before never had a problem.

Friday I get home from work to get a letter from discovery stating that my policy will cost me 1900 I almost died, I remember talking about 1200 which is already too much for my budget right now but I need the medical aid.

I told the consultant to cancel the plan because their is no money to debit such a huge amount, and no one communicated with me after I submitted my forms that I will be paying R1900. No one bothered to call me today and I had to end up calling them. My question yo discovery is how much do you assume I'm left with every month if all they calculate is how much income I get, I even explained I have 5 fnb accounts linked on one profile so in each account a transfer money one for petrol, one for my son, one 32 day savings so basically on a weekly basis I get money for petrol and to support my sons needs on a weekly.

The consultant goes on to explain I'm getting way too much money in my account, I need to get affidavit if I want to get a policy for lower rate, absolute bull. With a 3 month bank statement there is 3 transfers from other parties one my salary second my staff claim where I get half my petrol back and my data and reuse for petrol and data again so that doesn't count then I get R400 for my sons extra mural activity which is only half and I pay other half. All other credits are internal and you can clearly see on my 3 month bank statement.

Clearly discovery is not in it for customers its all about the money and to think I thought they the best. 3 other big medical aid companies quoted me less but chose discovery as I was happy with my plan both times I had the medical aid through previous companies.
