Keycare Keeps Changing Income Proof Registration

I have been a client of Discovery Health from January 2015. Prior to that, I was their client from 2012 to 2013. I stopped working on 31 January 2017 to become a full-time student. After a few months, I changed my medical aid option from Coastal Core to Essential Delta Core due to financial affordability. I was relying on the limited payout from my provident fund, which was to fund my expenses for the remainder of the year. I did notify Discovery of employment status and even requested that I make a cash payment arrangement which they refused me. This has resulted in me incurring bank charges since I could not provide for their debit orders on time. Nevertheless, I have paid my contributions monthly without fail, by EFT.

Now I have app**** for a change in my medical aid option from Essential Delta Core to Keycare Plus since I am currently unemployed and this would be more affordable. I submitted the required form and proof of registration as a full-time student. PSG Wealth, my financial advisor, had understood that would be sufficient. Discovery sent an email requesting a 90 day bank statement on 14 December 2017 which I submitted on 27 December 2017 around 9am. I then called the Keycare Department around 14h25 to speak to their consultant. This lady said they need all the bank statements that show where the deposits into my account are coming from and an affidavit from the police to state where the funds are coming from. She emphasized that because of the money coming into my account , she would be forced to put me on a higher income bracket. I asked why they are being so fussy. She explained that it is for audit purposes. I felt like I am a ***** or a ********* though because the requirements keep increasing and changing.

Mind you, Discovery Health said they operate on a debit order basis and I am supposed to provide for it. The same company refused me to pay on an EFT basis. This means I had to have R3130 in my account every month. They did not care when I told them my situation and that I am no longer employed so the money does not consistently come on a specific date into my account. I feel terrible like I am a ******** though. The way Discovery has treated me is awful this year. Why are they giving such bad treatment? I regret remaining with them after becoming resigning from work. Clearly, they don't care how long one has been a client of theirs. One is merely a number. I wish I changed earlier when I considered because I am now pregnant.
