IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY
My parents aged 83 and 94 respectively were summarily cut off from any medical benefits due to some glitch with the debit order, without so much as a phone call. These are two people who have been clients of Discovery for over 20 years and who would have been shipped off to a Government Hospital and turned away from a Private Hospital had an emergency occurred. This is despicable and totally unacceptable and goes to prove without a shadow of a doubt that IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. The ludicrous and completely unsatisfactory 'explanation' given by the poor sod on the phone was that they 'couldn't possibly' call everyone whose debit order was returned as they have too many clients. REALLY????? Edgars calls me at least 3 x a week if I don't pay my monthly account installments on time and I owe them R300 a month!!!! Lack of staff is the weakest excuse ever. Edgars is dealing with a possible bad debt if I don't pay my account - Discovery is dealing with life and death. Get a grip Discovery, your billion rand a year profits show exactly where the focus lies - with the bank account. ANY client whose account is suspended DESERVES a phone call at the very least. DISGUSTED !!!!!
