It doesnt get any better
I hate Discovery keycare with passion i had no clue i was going to get this ill and i did now i can see how low this plan is, i pay money and i get nothing out of it. I always have to end up paying more money. Why are we not given flexibility to change our plans when we want ? i called Discovery and they told me i cannot upgrade my plan. I have a very serious condition and i wear an armband should i get in an accident i would bleed to death. And apparently even if that's the case, if i have to be admitted to hospital, I have to go through casualty first before being admitted in Hospital. How sick is that ?? I am paying at yet i could die because every second in a person's life counts. Every time i have to go to the hospital or see my specialist then its a long story, i am on Chronic medication and they had told me that someone from Discovery will call me and up until this day they have not called me. <br> I am just really mad at the fact that should anything happen to me , chances of my survival are Zero because of my medical aid, what is the point in me paying when my Medical aid doesn't give the same care back. I call the call centre and one person says this and the other say that.
Thank you for your comment.
As discussed when a member would like to increase his or her cover, it is called a plan upgrade. The Scheme has to manage risk and places certain restrictions on plan changes during the year. Members may only move to defined plans during the year; however, they are permitted to move to any plan type on 1 January each year.
I confirmed that should you need emergency treatment In the case of an emergency, members can be admitted to any hospital. We will cover members for a maximum of 24 hours (or until stable) in a non-network hospital until they are transferred to a network hospital.
I have discussed the process in regards to having a non emergency specialist authorisation approved and should you need any further assistance you may contact us directly.
Thank you for allowing me to address your concerns.
Kind regards
Jashvir
