Irregular Payments from Discovery Health & Southern Rx!!

This is regarding ********** & irregular payments from Discovery Health’s Medical Scheme to a company, Southern Rx, which is owned by Ryan Noach, the CEO of Discovery Health! I discovered I had been billed R98-30 for an “unsolicited service”.

1. How many Members of Discovery Health have been billed R98-30 by SOUTHERN RX?

2. This service is unsolicited, why aren’t Members informed of this charge when called?

3. Southern Rx is a registered RETAIL PHARMACY with address 1 Discovery Place, Sandton.

4. This charge is billed according to the “Risk: Screening & Preventive Benefit”; is this therefore paid from the Members’ monthly premiums? Is this paid from our premiums, over and above the Administration Fees paid to Discovery Limited?

5. Discovery Limited were paid almost R5.4 billion last year in 2020 for administrative fees from DHMS. Would these unsolicited charges not form part of the Administration Fees from DHMS in administering this Medical Scheme?

6. Southern Rx, who is providing this unsolicited service, has a co-director by non other than Discovery Health CEO, Dr Ryan Noach!

7. The call centre agent who referred herself from Discovery Health, asked me 2 questions about Covid-19! How is this Screening & Prevention?
