Incorrect Billing
We handen in our resignation from the med/aid on 01/09/2015. As per the broker we were supposed to still be covered for the month of September, however our claims were not covered for a go visit on 07/09. When I contacted Discovery their call centre advised that as my husbands company was an arrear paying group our membership was terminated effective 31/08/2015. We accepted that and the fact that we had to settle e go bill ourselves. When my husband received his payslip today he noticed that contributions for September was deducted. Nazreen, the agent I spoke to today could not assist me as billing is not their department and the dept that does the billing does not accept calls. I explained that the company would not deduct contributions without a contribution being raised by the med aid. She suggested my husband speaks to his company yet the company suggests he should raise it with Discovery. We don't appreciate the run around as the problem is clearly on Disvovery's end as a company does NOT deduct without the billing! As we did not enjoy the benefit of med aid for September we would like this to be sorted out with immediate effect.
Thank you for your comment.
I was unable to reach you telephonically but have responded to you via email regarding the details of your query.
I can confirm that we did not request a premium for the month of September. We debit your employer for the premium, as a result the deduction to your salary is due to your employers request and not Discovery Health.
We have however made contact with the company to make them aware of your concerns. We have also provided you with their details should you wish to contact them directly.
