Incorrect amounts communicated and debited

Hi

I changed my discovery plan from coastal core to keycare because i have moved inland and that is the easiest change right now. I then cancelled my vitality account. i was assured that the amount extra in my vitality would be transferred to my medical side.

The change was reported as successful on the 10th of September.

Discovery sent me an emails with the following references: #***# and #***#.

The email from discovery health stated that my first debit would be R1 799.00 and i was certain that since it was the 10th of the month, this was correct.

they debited R2241.00 which does not correlate with the amount they confirmed with me.I have called them and asked them to refund me the R558.00 difference and they refused..

I received a seperate membership certificate which correlates with the booklet however the amount in the email differs and i understand that the email is more important than the certificate as it should indicate more accurate updated amounts.

I require that this matter be escalated and my R558 be refunded to my account as soon as possible. The consumer protection act Consumer Right No.5 backs me.
