********* inconsistency
Discovery placed me on the highest bracket of income for my KeyCare Plus plan which was an increase of almost R2000 of what I was paying. To be fair, I am no longer in the lowest bracket, I am in the middle placing my premium at R2500. I submitted income verification documents on the 6th of December on the online portal (automated response ***). On the 10th of December I received a request to submit an affidavit declaring the reason for credits on my bank statements. On 12 December I submitted the requested documents. (automated response ***). I called on the 18th of December to follow up as I saw on the app that I was still placed in the highest bracket. I managed to sort this matter out with the consultant and received a membership certificate stating that I was now placed in the correct middle income bracket. (MailRef#***#-). On the 20th of December I received another request to submit my letter of employment and payslips. I cannot for the life of me understand why this matter cannot be resolved. This back and forth inconsistency is giving me whiplash. It seems that Discovery is going out of its way to sap all the money out of me that they can (on a base plan with minimum benefits which are in my opinion not worth the premium - but that is another matter entirely).
Unfortunately I have no choice, medical aid is a must in this day and age. But I find it extremely inconsiderate and ********* that a company such as yourself would offer options for premiums relating to one's income bracket - assisting those who actually cannot afford medical aid - then turn around and try everything in their power to sap every cent they can from you. I find that quite contradictory.
If Discovery debits the incorrect amount from my account in January, you are placing my financial monthly survival in jeopardy. I refer to your mission statement stating that "Independent research validated our model for its positive impact on reducing healthcare costs". Well, this personal experience has certainly not lived up to your mission for your business and client experience.
For shame Discovery. For shame.
